Anna, my sparkling and talented sister/ photographer extraordinaire/ modern day renaissance woman, just updated my shop banner for me. She made the original and emails are always flowing in with people asking who designed it.



It is so lovely!

She also just wrote some very kind words about retrofied in her City View Photo blog that really made me smile. Thanks!

She participates in Operation Love photographing families and loved ones deployed over seas. The pictures will make your heart melt.

Sweet Birdie Boutique will be carrying 4 different retrofied bags - all birdies of course - over in Nerima-ku, Japan. Nerima-ku is one of 23 wards of Tokyo, Japan.





Japanese fabrics and craftmanship are definitely my favorite. During school I spent a few years studying the Japanese language and am so excited to have the bags over there.

Happy New Year...

Happy New Year! Christmas sales were so insane I had to inlist the help of my very sweet Mother to help out.

Needless to say sewing 70+ bags in one week did not leave us time to take a photo, so how about a shot of the last sunset of 2009 from the Southern most point in the United States. I am sure this is far more interesting than a haggard shot of me and a bunch of USPS boxes. (Click on the photos and they supa-size.)



(Conch Republic, Key West, or 2X4 take your pick...they like all 3 names down there.)


And a shot of new BFFs made along a road trip through the Everglades and down through the Florida Keys...




And yes, about 10 minutes later my road trip buddy and I learned that an open mouth is a sign of agitation. At least they did not hiss.

We saw more birds than gators thank goodness.





If retrofied ever goes bust I did find a new business venture - minus those cigies of course... seems to have all a person might need in one cinder block building.
